What to Expect:  Your First Visit

Head Orthodontics - Staff Photos Nov 2018 v2

At the first visit to Head Orthodontics, Dr. Head will perform a complimentary initial examination to determine the appropriate treatment plan. At this appointment, Dr. Head will determine whether you need treatment and he will discuss several possible options. He will then give you a general idea of the type, length, and overall cost of treatment.

Diagnostic Records

At your second visit, diagnostic records are made to determine the best course of treatment. Complete diagnostic records typically include a 3-D iTero scan of the teeth, photos of the patient’s face and teeth, and X-rays. This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care.

Case Presentation

After Dr. Head has evaluated your x-rays and 3-D scan, you have the option to meet for a case presentation appointment to discuss your treatment with you, again in detail, and go over any issues and/or changes to the original treatment plan.

Regular Appointments

The appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes about one hour. You’ll then see us at regular intervals 3 to 5 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes about 15 minutes. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately and reschedule your appointment.
